I held out on a review mostly because I knew this guy fights bad reviews by criticizing people, but recently had a different company refinish my floors. Quite the difference. Father Son took a 3 day quote and completed after 12 days. After messing up twice, they ended up sanding the floors 3 times. Some days we would only get an couple hours of work before they would leave for what we suspect was another job. I ended up having to replace 8 electrical outlets that had burn marks from their equipment being plugged in. I suspect it may have been too large of a job or Father Son is really inexperienced. I attached a photo of a portion of my invoice to prove I’m a real customer with a poor experience.

My husband and I recently moved into a 1930's home that had original hardwoods throughout. While the main floor had previously been restored, the upstairs was not. Shortly after we moved in we took up the upstairs carpet only to be horrified at the poor condition the hardwoods were in. After reaching out to 3 different floor companies in the metro area, we very easily chose Dalton and Father Son Floor Company.Before we hired Father Son Floor Company, Dalton came by for an initial consultation and took a more detailed approach in explaining the process and timeline it would take to restore our floors along with easing our minds about dust containment during sanding; much more so than the other 2 companies we had reached out to. Immediately after our initial consultation, Dalton emailed over a detailed cost estimate. We didn't have to wait very long to know what the cost would be unlike the other companies we had reached out to. In our estimate, Dalton gave a breakout of material... costs, and a very detailed list of information he provides so there is no hidden costs or unexpected parts during the process. This was all before we even hired Father Son Floor Company!The process itself was very easy, and Dalton was always very courteous and friendly when coming each day to work. He gave progress reports almost daily to show us how it was going and to get our input on the process thus far. He gave us plenty of time to choose a stain and gave us several options based on our initial color palette. Prior to start, I was very worried about the amount of dust we would have to deal with, but Dalton's dust containment was amazing and very little dust made it's way downstairs. He also did an amazing job cleaning the dust from all the nooks and crannies upstairs before he finished. Again, we had very minimal cleanup in the upstairs area when he left. After he was finished with our floors, he gave a detailed explanation of what the next steps in the drying/curing process would be, and what products we should use to keep our floors in the best shape.The final product of Father Son Floor Company is just beyond our wildest hopes. My husband and I still can't believe how amazing our floors look. Dalton is a true craftsman and artist. He did an amazing job start to finish and thankfully as his customer I get to reap the benefits of his work everyday. We will definitely be using Father Son Floor Company again for any future flooring projects!read more

Father/Son Floor Company of OKC did a wonderful job on our home's 1937 floors. The company was punctual, professional, and friendly throughout the refinishing process, and their cost estimates were reasonable. The floors were completed on 5/1/20, so I need to give it time to see how they hold up going into the future. At this time, my wife and I are very pleased with the work Dalton and his staff provided, and I recommend the company to all potential customers. The refurbished floors look great!

From start to finish Dalton and his team were absolutely incredible. We found Father and Son online for repairs to water damaged wood flooring - and we couldn’t be happier! Dalton quickly came by the home for an estimate, addressing our questions and providing some knowledge of the process. After speaking with our options we decided on Father and Son because the honesty, integrity and quality we felt Dalton would provide.Dalton offered reassurances to all of our concerns, gave suggestions and went above the scope of the project to ease our time. He and his team were on time, personable and finished ahead of schedule. The flooring that was replaced flows seamlessly and everything just looks amazing.Whenever you have to open your home for work to be completed it can feel like a vulnerable place to be with someone you don’t know. We felt absolutely at ease with Father and Son, which was a huge relief. I would highly, highly recommend them.

Dalton did a great job of keeping me informed as to different steps and what had to be done. Antonio was the lead in doing the job was very informative, personable and handled any requests not to mention being on time (big plus in my book). Now to the important part. The floors were in terrible shape when they started, had several areas to patch and repair, don't even know where those places are any longer. Minimal dust in the house, cleaned as they went each day. The floors look better than they have ever looked not to mention how much the grain in the wood really stands out now, made old shabby looking floors look elegant and rich. Finished on date they said they would, and at the price quoted. If you want a company that is professional, handles any problem with value and quality this is the company to go to for your flooring job.

So thankful for Dalton and his company! They did fantastic job for my rental home in historical area, our floor is original from 1936 and now looks awesome as brand new one! They show up on time and good with communication. If you have a wood floor, he is your guy!

We selected F&S on the basis of their Google reviews, and we were very disappointed. I would echo what the reviewer, Stephen, said a few days ago: we, too, struggled to get straightforward answers from Dalton, and we ended up with floors that were not finished appropriately. A 1 1/2-star review is really most appropriate. In the end, I rounded down, because I’m dumbfounded by how Dalton chose to handle this situation.We encountered 3 major issues, which contributed to this poor review: a slipping timeline, unfinished/unsatisfactory work, and (eventually) refusal to respond. Please see below for more details.1. F&S did not complete their work in the agreed-upon timeframe.I received a call a few days before to ask whether it was okay if F&S pushed the start date back, and that should have been my first indication that I might be in for disappointment. Here is the verbatim text exchange I had with Dalton after the timeline had slipped a number of times:“Dalton, the main thing... is that I need to know your more pessimistic timeline...You said that the stain was going to be applied “in a few hours” then it was applied the next day.You also thought that the poly could be applied the next day. Now, applying poly the next day isn’t an option, and I’m unclear why.Before that, you told me that you were pushed back because the wood supplier did you wrong, but you thought we’d still be done by Friday/SaturdayBefore that, you expected to start on Monday/Tuesday.Before that, you told me “probably Friday” and “Saturday at the latest”.And on your initial visit to the house, you told us it was a 3-4 day process.We have already rearranged things, and now we simply don’t feel confident that we’ll be done Monday evening. Are you confident? Might it be Tuesday? Are we going to be able to live with the smell from the poly?”— And here was Dalton’s reply —“I certainly understand your concerns. I think I may have communicated ahead of myself. We h da few setbacks this week and the wood not being here till later in the week certainly did not help.If we plan on Tuesday at the latest I know that would avoid the current trend of hoping but falling short.I will try to do both coats on Monday.Worst case a final coat on Tuesday morning. It dries enough to walk on after 3-4 hours”2. F&S first left the floors so rough, that it literally hurt to walk on: they were hand-scraped, and the scraping was so coarse that there were numerous spots where small ridges and not-so-small splinters made walking across the floor a daunting exercise.Dalton asked us to mark any trouble spots with painter’s tape so that he could address them, but that proved to be quite an endeavor (see image 1)!Me:“We’ve marked dozens of spots. I don’t really know what to think - it certainly seems like it needs to be sanded again in numerous areas. It LOOKS pretty, but it’s rough all over the place.”Dalton:“The best thing for us to do is just come back and Abrade it and apply an additional coat of poly.I can do it free of chargeI can do it On a lunch sometime next weekWill be dry by the time you get home”3. When we arrived home, we found that the abrading process took the stain off dozens of areas, leaving streaks all over the floor. I sent image 2 to Dalton and had the exchange shown in Image 3.Dalton spoke with my wife and me about a particular danger associated with abrading a floor after polyurethane is applied (i.e. there could be “some streaking”), but he assured us that he would make sure this didn’t happen. The fact that he attempted to blame us for this was probably the most appalling aspect of the entire process.We did do the Sharpies in the end. It took over 5 hours, not 5 minutes, and some of the streaks have already reappeared (see image 4) - definitely NOT a permanent fix.read more
